In-house Therapeutic Programmes
The objective of our pipeline of respiratory disease therapeutic programmes is to discover and develop innovative therapies for important disorders including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD),
severe steroid-insensitive asthma, allergic asthma
and cystic fibrosis (CF).
Our strategy is focused on the development of therapies that will deliver improved bronchodilator symptomatic relief in combination with treatment of the underlying inflammatory disease process. The compounds discovered will be licensed to third parties between IND candidate and Phase IIa Proof of Concept stages, in return for appropriate access fees, research funding and milestone and royalty payments.
One of our key strengths in respiratory disease is the extensive use of pre-clinical models including a range of in vitro tests and unique specific models of lung disease and COPD. These models are used to help select only those compounds that have the best chance of both clinical and commercial success in the market.
