Chemistry

Our chemistry department, which comprises more than 70 chemists, is directed by Dr Hazel Hunt.

We have recruited chemists from a number of major pharmaceutical companies including Merck, GSK, Roche, Aventis, biotech companies and other contract research organisations. On average, our chemists have 16 years industrial experience. The group includes experts in all aspects of drug discovery chemistry, including medicinal and synthetic chemistry, route development and optimisation, purification and scale-up activities.
